NSW SES Bankstown improves co-ordination of volunteers with Smart Messaging

SES Bankstown have been nominated by SES Head Office to conduct a trial of ADTEC Communications ComCent product. The trial will consist of using ComCent to provide communications to SES volunteers via SMS, Email and Voice messaging to ascertain the usefulness of ComCent as an operational communications tool. Including in the trial will be ComCent’s smartphone app for the iPhone and Android platforms.

To date the Bankstown team has found that with ADTEC's instant smart messaging they can mange staff allocation easier and they can contact volunteers quicker and therefore keep them up to date on the current situation. It is now much easy for them to communicate with volunteers and in turn mobilise a team with special skill sets to address a particular incident. Also the mapping function allows coordinators to see where people are in relation to other members of their team and if required just by tapping the icon of the map an instant message can be sent.
